Type-Right

They're kinda hard to see small so make sure you click on them to see em nice n' big. I've been cracking down on the typewriter lately, driving my roommate insane and this is the outcome.

this all spouted of my original comical idea on a gum wrapper which can be seen HERE.

Where I work

So, this be me last week in ol' London. Which marks the end of my internship at Gibb Design, it is a sad sad time in my life knowing that I have to leave this place. Some people have had the chance to see it in its glory but others only heard of its mythical powers and lofty ceilings. Basically once you arrive you never want to leave, many people can attest to this claim.

To document it in all of its awe is difficult so I've taken my time to complete an ol' photo mosaic. It's def. not the best one ive ever done but it gives the general idea of the studio space.

Although I am leaving this monday, I will be back for the Horse and His Boy CD release party! which is going to rule, and the following week to shoot LOLA fest.

Final Prints!

Yesterday, Mr. Jeff Heene and I laid down the final colour on the LOLA posters at a lightning fast rate and completed the run of posters. At the moment there are 80+ completed posters, and we hope to do about 200 in total. The posters are printed 26 x 17 Roland-Opaque, 80lb paper, we also did a few on rag paper (stonehenge) which can be seen in the right image.

Check em out, and buy yours at LOLA this year! (sept 17th-2oth)

price still pending but looking at 15-25 dollars most likely.

The First Colour

So as promised yesterday, I posted some pictures of the first pulled print from the black separation of the LOLA posters from today. We will be most likely doing a run of around 100, black and red lettered posters, 29 x 17.

so far around 60 have been pulled and hung to dry (since it takes a day for the ink to dry) so we can pull the red separation either tomorrow or monday. They've been pretty much spot on with very minimal waste so yeah it rules! stay tuned for the red pull either tomorrow or monday and some pics of the final prints.

check em outttttttt

LOLA!

Up at my excellent internship at Gibb Design we are handling the design, website, and poster printing side of LOLA fest this year. Which pretty much rules. LOLA is coming into its fourth year and is fast approaching (sept 17th-20th) here in London, this year is looking like the best line up of musicians (ESPECIALLY A HORSE AND HIS BOY) and artists thus far, so hopefully it unravels nicely.

The point of this post is that yesterday we got the LOLA silk screens for the poster design that won the poster contest. The screens are simply beautiful so I figured I'd post a few pictures of them and sort of blog my way through the overall process of printing them.

Stay tuned for progress pictures as we start screening tomorrow, and I will also post pictures of some of the first pulls/prints/etc.

check em out!
